Placing the DAUNTLESS Spotlight on Anna Raafat

Anna was working for a fintech lending marketplace when she kept coming across the same customer pain point. Users kept staying passive because they didn’t understand the platform’s content. For example, while fintech makes it easy to access the stock market, navigating all of that while using the platform feels intimidating for many.

Anna realized she had two options to increase user engagement—she could stay in her role and solve this problem within one business, or she could do it on her own and open up a world of fintech possibilities.

She chose the latter: “I have been surrounded by founders for a long time and I’ve always had the excitement as well… I was even telling myself, let's do this before I’m 30.”

So that’s exactly what she did.

Anna built Inncivio: a techlayer for fintech platforms that provides users with real-time, personalised guidance so they can better use the fintech platform’s products.

I met Anna last week at the Businettes Female Founder’s Summit and I was immediately moved by her warmth and candour—plus we share fintech experience. Trust me when I say that Anna is properly and actively doing big things.

So to kick off the new DAUNTLESS Spotlight series, I figured Anna was the perfect person to interview. Check out more of her DAUNTLESS journey:

With Inncivio, what was your biggest fear, and how have you overcome it?

To not hold too strongly the things I cannot control. I’m not a control freak, but organisation, being one of my strengths, is also my weakness.

In the start-up world, this mindset can help you go very far, but it can also block you very fast. Am I able to grow enough to leverage organisation as a strength, but not have this as my biggest blocker? This is a personal ambition as well. I really believe in getting thrown into the cold water to be able to learn!

How would you describe the people who most inspire you?

Perseverance. People who are consistently excelling in something - it doesn’t mean just in work, too. Doing something more than once and not letting go.

What does “Being Dauntless” mean to you? What does that look like?

I think this is the closest thing to fearless. To put the fear aside and to be very consistent about it. I think that describes my motivation for Inncivio. Fear sells, so it’s very simple to be stuck there. A Dauntless person says “Whatever, I put this aside”. It doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, but to move forward anyways.

How can people support Inncivio?

First off, we are looking for design partners. Also, for anyone who is in the fintech space - I’d love for you to try out the product, and give me feedback!

I’m really grateful to have met Anna at the Businettes Summit last week. The amazing thing about communities like this is they are overflowing with incredible people and DAUNTLESS stories.
